Speaking of drunken blogging… well, there I was looking through the admin interface of my blog just now and found this sitting in there as a draft. For some reason about a month ago, I thought it would be interesting to post a photo of the wine we’d just scarfed. But I’d never quite got around to completing the job, and had forgotten all about it. Funny that.

I think we bought it at the Morton Estate winery out west of Tauranga about seven years ago. It’s something a little unusual for New Zealand, a red methode champenoise. We are big fans of some of the Australian ones, like the Rockford Black Shiraz, so it’s good to find a New Zealand example.

Except I can’t tell you what it was like. Bugger. But from what I remember, it was quite nice. If you see some, give it a go.
