entropic absence

Bella has gone to her Grandparents’ place by herself for a couple of days.

She caught the train yesterday with her Nana – and judging by the number of times she’d been asking when this was going to happen (“Is it tomorrow yet?”) this was a Very Big Thing. She loves trains.

It’s probably had more of an effect on us than her. On the one hand we are enjoying the relatively light duties at the moment; the lack of dinner time struggles over food; and the general air of quiet that has descended over the house. But this enjoyment carries with it a certain level of guiltiness, as if we shouldn’t be enjoying it at all. And at the same time we miss her. A lot. Meanwhile she’s having a ball, and probably not missing us at all.

She’ll be back on Saturday. And then a pleasant form of chaos will erupt once more.
